The Women's Campaign Forum Foundation (WCFF) is dedicated to helping women build the skills and infrastructure they need to become more effective leaders in public life. We conduct action-oriented research and pilot targeted programs that advance women. Our work prepares women to become more politically active, increases their engagement in key democratic processes and readies them for public leadership roles.
Women give, but not to candidates
Problem
- Even though women direct 80 percent of household purchases, women make less than 30 percent of federal political donations
Solution
- Vote With Your Purse - Our ongoing research initiative is focused on understanding women as political donors and the factors driving their decisions about political giving. The next phase of our work will investigate women's online giving
Women lead, but are missing from appointed roles
Problem
- Critical policy and legislation are made and influenced in appointed office, yet women still represent fewer than 30 percent of appointed officials in the states
Solution
- Unlocking the Cabinet - The recent research initiative aims to shine a spotlight on the status of women in appointed roles and offer educational resources for those seeking appointed positions. The next phase of our work will document best practices of organizations and governors that have been especially effective in increasing the number of women appointed
WCFF aims to build a more representative democracy by increasing the voice of women in key political processes-political giving and appointment to key governmental roles.
Advancing women's public leadership. At WCF Foundation, this is our commitment.
